I finally finished sorting out my wordpress.com website yesterday (http://dancefestivalcostumes.co.uk) and was just testing it out when I noticed that when it comes up on Google search a grey symbol comes up against it rather than the safe site symbol. I went through the Norton site owner process to verify my site, seeking advice on the way from Wordpress who suggested that I create a text widget and insert the html verification code into that. I did so and the html verification code is now visible right at the bottom when you scroll down on my front page.
However the rest of the process does not work, when I clicked on verify it took me to an error page on my website. After several hours of online chat with Norton and Wordpress and telephone calls with Norton, there seems to be a problem with this process when you have a wordpress.com website as you cannot access the Code and there isnt a built in process within Wordpress.com to allow you to do this (I note that there are within the existing Wordpress tools, easy ways to verify your site for pinterest using meta tags but nothing for Norton Safe Web). I have tried all fixes suggested online and then found similar cases on Norton Community where people have solved this problem.
Is there anyone out there who can help me get my site verified? It would be so much appreciated
