In checking your home page, I see that the head element is comprised of lines 3 through 54, but I do not see any Norton Safe Web information placed there. I have done a search of your source code, but I cannot find any reference to the authentication file.
Can you tell me how you placed the information using your site building program? And, if you could provide the name of the site building program being used, that may help also.
Okay. What your program is allowing you to do is edit a CSS style sheet. That is why the meta tag is not showing on your page. The CSS determines the style of various properties on your website.
An alternate method to verify ownership is to add the Norton Safe Web authentication code to your keywords tag which I see you have in place.
Use your site building program to edit your keywords. Copy and paste the authentication code from your email registration, (the 128 character alphanumeric code) into your keywords tag on your main page. Be sure it is separated from the other entries with a comma. It should look like this when completed:
....Lilly Pulitzer, FREE SHIPPING on all items!, sf8-jcakkmwfysv7y...(your unique 128 character code)
Although this method will not allow for the automated verification, it should assist the Safe Web team in manually verifying your site.
Let me know when you have completed this step and I will check that the code is properly located.
The authentication code in your keywords meta tag is properly placed and I shall notify the Safe Web team who will manually verify site ownership. Allow them a day or two to respond back to you in this thread.
Once ownership has been verified, your site will be queued for the rating evaluation.
Be sure the code remains in place until ownership is verified. Leaving the code in the meta tag will not affect your site or the visitor's experience.
