Just to present the other side of your question.

 

I have N 360 on one system and NIS on another system.  On the N 360, I have never permitted Registry Cleaner to run (I am a non-believer in using a registry cleaner) and I have had Backup disabled ever since it was installed (I use other options for backup).  The removal of Internet Explorer Temp files, Windows Temp Files, Internet Explorer History, as well as Disk Optimization I can do myself - so for my use - NIS is actually a better choice - fewer things to go wrong and they both offer the same virus/malware protection.

I agree with yank, re the registry clean feature. Better left alone, as Windows nowadays does a pretty good job of looking after itself. The tools are there in Norton 360, but you don't have to use them. Like yank, NIS is all I need....
