I was asking for "chat" assistance in downloading the suite, because it would terminate due to "communication error".
The Symantec technician confidently suggested and then used the Remote Assist tool and disabled my computer. She deleted several files and changed I-net options, trying to solve a "Communication Error" on the download process. She then performed a reboot.
I now have a Blue Screen with "disable or remove newly installed software..." and a "page fault in nonpaged area" messages.
None of the five boot options work (Safe mode, last config, etc), each lead to the dreaded blue screen.
After holding 43 minutes I'm now told it is very fortunate to get a Blue Screen and there is nothing further to Norton can do. I'm stunned and hoping I don't lose the 50% of my data that's not backed up.
Any suggestions?
