Viewing activity issue

Hi, Katie,

I have two questions about the acitivity view in Onlinefamily.Norton.

1. I have set up the Onlinefamily.Norton for a few days. One of the computers I monitored (Windows 7) always (every once a while) shows the IP addresses (those highlighted on the first screen shot in the attached Doc file). I know the user did not browse to the addresses. I guess these are from something related to "proxy" since I noticed I was reminded with something "proxy" when I installed the SafetyMinder in the user's computer. But there is no proxy server setup in the network. My other computers in the same netwok do not show these or similar IP addresses.

2. The other issue is that the log continues without stops even the user is away from the computer for two hours. It shows many websites that are not visited, such as those highlighted in the 2nd screen shot in the attachment.

With the above said, is there any way to just view those activities that the user clicks and types? Do we have any way to selectively view the activities?

Thanks,

Hi lifanhu,

Thanks for the inquiries.  I don't see the attached Doc file you mentioned in your post.

1. For getting IP addresses on the Web Activity page, it usually means there’s a script that calls information from another site.

2.  Please check this link http://community.norton.com/t5/OnlineFamily-Norton/Spurious-Activity/td-p/197775 for your second question.

Thanks,

Katie

Katie,

Thank you for your reply.

For the IP addresses appearing on the activity log, is there any way to eliminate them from showing up? Since the calls are from other sites (as indicated in your response), may I just block the sites (from the activity view sceen, check-mark "Block  Site"?

Any other ways to stop these unwanted from appearing on the activity log?

Thanks and regards,
