Since Monday 8/4 I’ve been on 3x daily live streams with vimeo and each has ended after approx 1 hour. I’m a watcher not a creator. I googled and gemini said something about DHCP leasing. My spectrum router doesn’t have user config for this so spectrum replaced the router. Gemini no longer mentioning this. Livestream still ends after 1 hour. vimeo site not helpful. Found a page here on norton back oct/nov 2024 about youtube issues. Wondering if norton cause of this issue. Also experienced zoom video audio sync issues on saturday early mornings. VPN connections to work also interrupted on occasion. I’m new to spectrum coming form verizon fios 1 month ago. so not sure what the cause is.
Anyone else have vimeo stream issues?
I haven’t tried turning off the firewall. Next thing to try. But seeing the ICMP incoming traffic blocked is huge so I’m cautious.
I’ll add I’ve contacted the streamer and no one is complaining about this. Following their recommedation, reloading the web page starts the stream again. Very strange.
@wbiesty First what is the name and complete model of your Spectrum router? I would like to have a look at its settings my side.
-Does your Norton history indicate what the disconnections might be for? Have a look in history under firewall and connections for entries that may be helpful.
-Does Spectrum have a data cap on your account? Have you spoken with their support about that yet? If not I would ask if for no other reason that clarity.
Edited: Spectrum MAY insist they have no data caps on user accounts, but, for the record, ALL internet providers DO throttle user accounts and do without warning. Much of this will be based on issues such as. How much data you are using on a regular vice an irregular basis, as well as whether your neighborhood has data hogs who are constant content users. Verizon has done so in the past with my residence, not due to my personal usage but the area of my neighborhood and its nodes usage.

It just says wifi 7 router. newest model i guess.
I looked through the firewall as I mentioned there’s tons of blocked ICMP traffic.
Any tips on filtering? searching?
No cap. I mentioned I called support about DHCP lifetimes and their solution was new router which didn’t solve it. I’m new so I don’t think it’s due to monthly bandwidth.
But I’ll call and ask about caps and update them on the issue.
Update: no firewall events that I can see.
Update: spectrum no cap
spectrum updated router firmware.

It didn’t happen last night after restarting my laptop.
It could be my employer’s VPN. (I’m not using norton’s.)
I was at work and livestreams and it ended after an hour.
Could be chrome and vimeo.
Work uses a different AV.
Employers software is always monitored so yes, that may be the issue. Thanks for the post back.
