Norton says my virus definitions are outdated, but when I try to update them, it just says in LiveUpdate :
“Download virus updates Processing…”
And it stays like that for hours, without installing the updates.
Nothing has changed recently in my OS or configuration.
Restarting also does not help…
Is there a solution to this ?

Restart your computer and then try LiveUpdate again. Restart, not Shutdown and startup again.
I already tried both, nothing changes.
Could there be something wrong with the version number ?
Because if I check LiveUpdate after restarting, when it’s not updating, it says :
“Virus definitions: ver. 000000-0 (last updated 8 april 2025, 19:17)”
In your 360 product, try going into Settings and click on the Troubleshooting tab. Click on Repair Norton. After that finishes, restart the computer again and test.
Hey, as it turns out, that wasn’t necessary.
After trying a lot of times during the whole day, it got a message in Norton late yesterday night that it needed me to restart my computer (while it was still updating, btw) and after that, it seemed to work normally again, the version number is also normal now.
Weird, never had this before…
