Virus Definitions' Release

Hi, amysheehan,

Thank-you for your Reply, but I was already aware of that.  It's the Pulse Updates that are not being Released; at the time of writing, the last Update was over One Hour Ago.   This is just getting silly and is totally un-acceptable from symantec Security Response; this has been going on since the start of 2010 and I am very surprised that this is still going on.

It seems here too that the pulse updates haven't updated for over an hour - that's when I got the daily updates.

I will keep checking here as well.

Looks like there's a Norton server problem AGAIN.  Didn't this happen not so long ago?

What's going on Norton???

Just got webprotection updates but no AV updates since 11:13 AM pacific

:smileysad:

I reinstalled NIS 2010 (17.5.0.127) and I noticed that instead of 12 updates last time, it installed now 36 updates. Is It correct ?

Hello

It's over 2 hours since I got any antivirus updates.

Same over here. I suggest that we lean back and sit it out ;-)))

Same it is over it's over 2 hours since I got any antivirus updates.

Over Three Hours for me; let's see how big it gets.  On a serious note, this totally un-acceptable.

Its over 3 hours for me too! Unbeilevable.......Gorpy1

What good would a reinstall do the same thing would happen in this Version......Gorpy1

Been well over three hours with me as well. I did try and update my wife's laptop and it did download and install something but it's not on all day and it was over 24 hours ago that it last ran an update. Tried it again after it sat for about 15 minutes and it's like this machine. So three hours and counting.

As long as I know that it's a problem with Norton or Symantec then I don't really worry too much.

As far as a reinstall I'm not certain that would fix anything when it's this widespread. I have had to reinstall in the past and while it did repair my problem that was for something completely different and my bad!

So we sits and we waits I guess.

Best,

Chatham.

Now over 3 hours. Looks like everything is down. Same problem with 360 and  the beta NIS.

Now has gone to over 4 hours on everthing

It’s the same with me and probably many other users too I imagine! It’s ages since I had either Virus Definitions or Pulse Updates, but I’m not sure how long the trouble has been going on as I’m not on-line all the time. I know that an update for Virus Definitions failed to install at around 4am BST, but that’s all. I suppose we’ll just have to wait until Symantec get the problem sorted.

Hello, PSteinberger,

Everything is not down as W.P.D. are still being released, along with all other Updates, apart from V.D./Pulse Updates.  There was a V.D. Update over 3.5 hours ago, so, not long after the last Pulse Update was released.  B.E.T.A. Products only get one V.D. Update-a-week roughly.

Re-Installing will not Fix this Issue as it is another symantec-side issue.

Ditto here. Keeps saying, No Updates Found.

Could someone tell me....is norton tasks the only place to view pulse updates? Im not seeing it in hist no matter what I look under.  Only under norton tasks and it doesnt go back far.

Thanks :)

Hi, artfreak,

The figures on the U.I. is the last Virus Definitions' Update, and this also changes when you get Pulse Updates.  Hope this helps.

Going on 4 hours though I just got anti-phishing (web protection) update through Live update after a Reboot...that's it though probably just got lucky:smileyvery-happy:......Gorpy1

Just got a pulse update @ 4:03 pm pdt
