Virus Protection Off, Promted for Password

Hi All.

I have a MacBook Air running OS 10.7.5 and NIS 12.5. NIS shows an activation code and everything looks fine. Except that the Automatic Protection items; Virus Protection and Idle-time Scan; are set to off. I did not change them - but they have been turned off. When I try to enable them, I am prompted for a password. My macbook password doesn't work.

A few other things seem odd, too. It says 'Your Mac is not protected'. Yet, it says that subscription days remaining is 289. Last virus scan performed is Disabled.

I signed in to review my account on norton.com. It shows that I own two copies of NIS. But, it indicates that only one copy has been installed and activated. NIS was working fine on this Mac until this morning. Everything appears to be working OK on my other Mac.

I don't have a NIS password and there doesn't seem to be a way to request a Norton password reset.

Any help would be appreciated.
