I'm running Norton Internet Security 5 for Mac ver 12.7(57) from Comcast, on OSX 10.9.4. My email client is Seamonkey (a branch of Thunderbird).
After a recent live update Norton started flagging the file that is my email inbox as containing a trojan (Trojan.Gen.SMH). It says it is unable to repair the file (Thank heavens - I'm afraid a "repair" would corrupt my inbox). The alert pops up every few minutes. I removed all emails received since the messages started, but they did not stop (note: I have over 20,000 emails in my inbox. Don't ask.).
I can find no way to identify the specific email and no way to exclude files. The alerts became so intrusive that I had to turn off virus scan.
How can I resolve this? Thanks
