My computer has a current version of Antivirus (18.1.0.37); blutooth Microsoft keyboard, Microsoft wired mouse; running XP Pro; Intel Core 2 Duo E7500/2.93ghz; 3 gigs of ram.
When AntiVirus detects an idle condition and starts full scans (especially) and sometimes smaller background scans -- the system does not recognize keyboard or mouse click interrupts.
So, while the scan proceeds, it largely ignores my input until I cut the power to the computer. It seems to completely ignore keyboard input. The cursor moves, but mouse clicks seem to be ignored. At times it seems that it puts the mouse clicks in "cache" and they are executed when the scan has finished.
How can I interrupt automatic scans or set their priority so that that Antivirus will recognize activity once it starts its scan?
This is getting beyond simply annoying. I understand I can shut off automatic scans, and will do so if needed. But I would prefer to allow automatic scans...but be able to interrupt them.
