A few months back I noticed something a little odd when running my Norton 360 full system scan. Where previously it was picking up and deleting cookies, it was now telling me their were none at all to delete. Norton appeared to be running fine, updates were being downloaded. So I didn't think anything major was at fault.
Recently it has come to my attention that someone has been making use of my internet usage and I was advised to change my wi fi password, which I did. Not long after this change the problems started to show. I was receiving phone calls from someone who said they were from my internet providers call centre. When I hang up on them my PC ceased to work and all I could see was the following error messages
SSScheduler. exe Bad Images Btv.exe Bad Images
C:\Windows\System32\urlmon.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains errors
Took the PC to a computer shop where the technician said it as a virus and that it was cleared from my PC (I hope so).
Can anyone tell me what type of virus it could have been, how it by-passed Norton 360 and has it really been cleared from my PC?
