Vista Antivirus 2010 - Computer Almost Dead

I have a very serious problem at hand. I got this "av.exe" crap that won't go away. I've tried eveything. I even had Norton scan the AppData/Local specifically - nothing came up. I even watched it search the av.exe but nothing came up. I've been at this for 3+ hours. I've downloaded Melabytes or whatever that's called. I even got Spyware Doctor - I believe Melabytes(sp?) got rid of the Trojan virus but as I've read online - (btw I'm on my mother's computer, my internet no longer works) there is a hidden virus that apparently no software can get rid of. These popups suck and I even tried running in safe mode and that didn't work. I tried going back to a previous disk but apparently, I don't have that available...Not even a "roll back" disk or whatever it's called.

Right now, if I try to click anything it says "pick an association in order to run this..." even for my Outlook Email and Internet Explorer, etc. I read online that FireFox is completely immune to this virus - unfortunately, I don't have that. When I first got this virus, it didn't even let me surf the web. I had to go on my mother's computer and download these programs to a blank cd. I wish I knew what to do - it won't even give me the availability to restore my computer. I turned off administrator privileges so I don't see a reason why it won't work. I'm going to bring it to a friend who's a tech guru tomorrow who has this program "Rkill" that will hopefully get rid of this nasty virus. I've backed up about 90% of my important documents on a GB stick - the only thing that's left is to back up my music but I don't have an extra space for it...I guess I'll just have to use hidden files on my iPod to make my music show up.

If you guys could give me any feedback that would be great...I need my laptop for school soooo it'd be nice if I could get this up and running like within 24 hours. Thanks for taking the time to read this! :/
