VNC connectivity

I replaced TrendMicro on my parent's pc this week (they have been using TM for about 3 years) with N360 and I've lost VNC connectivity with them. After a pair of technical support online chat sessions I am still unable to connect. The two solutions from chat were to add the winvnc4.exe to Antivirus exclusion list of SONAR and Auto Protect as well as scans; and to change the trust level in the Network Security Map to "Full Trust".  While these two steps might be required, it seems like I should change something in their Firewall settings. My father is in his 80's and he retired without ever having a pc on his desk so VNC is a dream application since they live nearly 200 miles away. Anyone know what needs to be changed / opened for me to reconnect to him through VNC?

I let Norton360's install program uninstall TrendMicro.

My VNC viewer now gives me "unable to connect to host: Connection timed out (10060)"

Thanks

Norton doesn't do a great job uninstalling other security software.  Try running the Trend Micro removal tool and then reboot to see if that helps.  You may need to talk to VNC support to find out what other ports are required.  Once TM is completely removed, you will be able to test connectivity by disabling the Norton firewall.  If that doesn't allow connectivity, we will need to look a bit deeper.
