yeah i’ve been using norton vpn for a while now and its a really great piece of software. its really easy to change regions and refresh your ip address. i do notice lots of apps and website really do NOT appreciate vpn users which is funny to me
Have you added the windows app to split tunnel exclusions? The VPN MUST be disabled to change its settings.
Norton 360
Open Norton 360.
On the Norton dashboard, click Privacy on the left pane,
Click Open under the Secure VPN tile.
Click the Settings tab at the top.
In the Settings screen, click Edit Apps under Split Tunneling section.
Click Add Application.
A new Open window will appear, in this windows, browse and select the respective application/program executable file to exclude from using VPN traffic. To find the app executable file, try the below,
Right-click the app Desktop shortcut / Start menu / Taskbar→ Click Properties.
Under the Shortcut tab, look for the Target field. That field shows the app’s full .exe path.
Copy the full path from the Target field.
Go to the Open window and paste the path in the File Name field at the bottom and click Open.
Click Save.
Toggle the slider to enable the Split Tunnel setting.
Turn ON the VPN and access the local devices(printer or scanner).
To remove an app from the exclusion list, in the Exclude specific apps from VPN screen, click Remove next to the app that needs to be removed from the list.
I am getting lost in item 3. After clicking Add Application in the new window, only thing I can find about printing is Printing_Admin_Scripts, right click properties A drop down list shows, but there is no Shortcut Tab. That is where I am getting lost.
There isn’t a shortcut, you will need to find the directory where your software is installed and add the exe file that starts the printer from there. Please review my screenshot as an example. My software for my printer resides in C:\Program Files\CanonBJ\IJPrinter/Canon TR4700 series. Hope that helps!
