Thanks for posting back. But you should not have had to install the standalone VPN app. Norton 360 still comes with the VPN feature. I just updated my iPhone to iOS 26.5 and reinstalled the latest 360 version from the Apple App Store and I still have the VPN function.
From your 360 app, check under Account > About to see what is listed beside Product. If properly activated it should say Norton 360 Premium.
I know this has been talked about for a bit now, but I have just noticed I have the same issue. Norton 360 premium, and the VPN option to change location has disappeared form my IOS app on both my Iphone and Ipad. It is still available on my Windows Desktop. I have the latest ios updates and Norton. I just have the safe web notification. All i can do is just turn the vpn on or off.
Thanks. I had tried some but see a couple of different ones. I did download the VPN app and that works as it used to in the 360 app. Gives me options as i navigate the other trys..
Thanks for sharing: so on iOS ā Nortonās āstandalone VPN appā activates with your Norton 360 plan & also retains ālocation selectionā function?
Correct. Downloaded on both Iphone and Ipad. Both activated with my account. No changes to that. I noticed, had forgotten, that I had previously at some time ,downloaded the VPN app, but deleted it as didnāt need it with the 360 app doing what it does. Until now.
Thanks again for sharing:
as to what happened to VPN ālocation selectionā on iOS
I can imagine the meetings ā trying to get all players on the same field ā on the same day ā at the same time.
I can totally picture it:
Product managers: āWe need to unify the VPN story across platforms.ā
iOS engineers: āApple sandbox rules say otherwise.ā
Windows engineers: āWe already have TAP adapters and driver conflicts.ā
Marketing: āBut āVPN includedā is a selling point!ā
Documentation team: āWait⦠which app are we talking about again?ā
Support: āOur KB says all of the above⦠sometimes.ā
And somehow, everyoneās talking, but no one is in sync ā and by the time the meeting ends, the product has already moved a tiny step in three different directions, leaving users to figure out the messy reality.
Thatās often why big security suites feel like a collection of mini-products glued together, rather than one perfectly cohesive experience.
Honestly, itās impressive they keep anything working at all across Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android ā but the UX and documentation definitely suffer.
I just updated to the latest 360 iOS version 26.9.20260526.3612 on iOS 26.5.
I still see the different locations offered when I tap on the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen, then scroll down to Secure VPN. There the currently set location is displayed and tapping that brings up the options of other virtual locations available.
