VPN will not turn on, turns off by itself

I participated in a discussion about this same subject in February but need to come back to the Community with the same issue. I got used to having to turn on and off VPN manually after wake-up or start/restart. I use a Laptop Samsung NP740U5M with Windows 10 Home and NORTON 360 Premium, Norton VPN and Norton Utilities Premium.

By far too frequently, after wake-up or start/restart, VPN will not turn on again. If I am lucky, it might connect in the background while I have to go on with my work. If not, it requires me to go into sleep mode, wake up and try to turn it on. If it does not turn on, I have to restart Windows. Furthermore, randomly, while I am working VPN turns itself off by itself which forces me to go through the above steps again. Because of that one, while working I made it a habit to check once in while if VPN is still tuned on. I used Norton's tech support chat and on the phone support, which included the time consuming routine to uninstall and reinstall the Norton suite, going through security and other settings in Windows 10, etc. It seemed to work for a while afterwards, but then above issues show up again. Has anyone else had that mix of experiences, too?

Hi All,

I faced the same issue for a long time after getting VPN along with Norton 360

i found some suggestion to allow the ports 4500 and 500

i did try on Norton 360 on the Traffic Rules and it is working

Pls. check yourself below the settings

In Norton 360 after logon click Open and Click the Settings Link

and

Firewall ->Traffic Rule-> Add the Required Port

and allow other settings  as shown in the attached file

Also check thoroughly with your network settings whether it affects any other port on any unwanted port openings

and Take all precautions while continue with the solution and test your firewalls for any other issues

Take Precautions before changing the firewall settings

I have experienced this same issue time and time again I have been in touch with chat line and to say I'm not happy with the result would be an understatement.
