VPN won’t turn on my iPhone 12 saying my network is suspicious

I am getting pop ups constantly on my iPhone 12 from Norton 360 saying “ This network is suspicious. We recommend turning on VPN now. Then when I try to turn on the VPN I get another message that says “ Your network is compromised and VPN failed”. My husband who is on the same network is not having this problem on his iPhone but he doesn’t have Norton on his phone as it’s a company phone with company security. I have the Norton 360 Premium subscription . This all started happening 3 days ago when I updated my IOS to 16.2.1. I am not very tech oriented and I don’t know how to fix this problem.

Hello Robyn. Disable your Airdrop feature if it is enabled and restart the device. Also check that your WiFi password is a long and complex one. Norton has issues when it see or thinks a WiFi password is not secure as it believes it should be. Note: I am not a Apple device user, just trying to assist where possible.

Hi! This is a Home network and there haven't been any changes to router or modem . I uninstalled the Norton app and restarted as you suggested ,  then reinstalled it but it did not work and I'm still getting the suspicious network message. And yes it the IOS 16.1.2 that I recently updated to.  What else should I do to fix this? I really appreciated your help!

Is this on your home network, or a public wifi hotspot?

If the home network, have there been any changes to your modem or router around the time this started?

If no changes, try uninstalling your 360, and restarting the device. Then reinstall and test to see if you are still seeing this issue.

And to confirm your iOS version. iOS 16.2 has not been released yet. So are you on 16.1.2?
