VPro Console Has Stopped Working - Norton Ghost 15.0, running on Windows Vista Ultimate

Have been running Ghost 15.0 under Vista Ultimate for several months, with zero problems.  Suddenly, can't open the program.  Receive error message: "Norton VPro Console Has Stopped Working" "Error in main. Configuration system failed to initialize."

Have tried to "Repair" the installation: get critical failure every time. 

 

No new programs installed recently.  I do run Windows Update, automatically downloads updates, but DO NOT auto-install. Instead, I choose the updates to install.  What's happening, and how do I fix it?
