This morning during an idle quick scan, received what has to be a false positive telling me I was infected with the W32.Induc.A virus apparently located in the Express Assist 9 program folder, which is an e-mail backup app for Outlook/Outlook Express. NIS 2009 removed the ea9.exe file located in that folder along with a registry entry. I've used this particular mail backup program for years with NSW or NIS resident on my system and have done literally hundreds of quick and full scans throughout the years without any incident. Deciding to be cautious, I did not restore the supposedly infected file located in NIS quarantine but instead downloaded a new copy of the application's installation program. After uninstalling the previous copy, did a fresh install. Ran a check with everything seeming to be back to normal, and NIS 2009 certainly hasn't flagged the supposedly offending file again.
Anyone else using NIS and EA on their systems have issues today as described?
