I'm running a Windows Vista 32 bit system. I had a combination of the Symantec, Malewarebytes and Avast on my system. My network experienced some issues earlier today, where only google owned sites wouldn't load. (Fairly certain it had to do with my service provider.) Anywho, only a few hours later, my desktop was attacked by a W32.Virut.CF. The Symantec and Avast both caught the files and quarantined them. But the .tmp files seemed to be mutliplying quickly. Anyways, I ran that Symantec virut removal tool they provide on their website, while in safe mode. It didn't detect the files. Neither did Malewarebytes. For the time being, I've shut my system completely down so it can't infect anymore .exe files. I've shopped around looking for solutions, but it's always the same - use the Symantec removal tool. Which didn't work for me.
Any suggestions? Thanks, I greatly appreciate it.
