Waiting for solution

A week last Sunday one part of a Live Update failed to install (Norton Anti Virus Signatures). This was not the first occasion. The previous failed updates however installed on the next occasion Live Update was used. Not so on this occasion. Contacted chat support who said "Oh yes, we can sort that for you." The agent concerned proceeded to uninstall my version of Norton Security with Back up and then tried to reinstall. He then tried to reinstall again, again and yet again. All to no avail. I was then promised that a senior agent would get back to me within 24 hours. Needless to say I am still waiting. The following day I used chat support again going through all the same procedures. What a waste of time! Again I was promised a call within 6 hours. Guess what. I am still waiting. I have tried virtually every day since to get a solution. The same promises of a call back within a specified period but nothing happens. The telephone remains silent. The inbox remains empty. So here I am waiting in vain for a solution to a problem that Norton agents appear to have caused and can't resolve. Yes, I have tried to download and reinstall myself during this period but without success. I have had no protection for over a week now. To say I am appalled at the lack of customer service and attention is an understatement.
