Want to use Ghost 15 to restore Windows7 after creating dual-boot system with XP

I am tired of some issues pertaining to VMware and virtual XP under 64bit Windows7.  I want to create a dual boot system with XP.  XP will be installed on an existing extended partition (D).  Windows7 will then be reinstalled on drive C.

Can I use the Ghost 15 recovery point of my existing C drive to restore Windows7?  I'm worried about the complications due to the old Bootmgr not recognizing the new XP boot option.  Should I do the following?

     1.  Install XP, then install Windows7 from the install disk.

     2.  In Recovery Console, save the "Boot Configuration Database store" to a usb drive.  (How is that done?)

     3.  Overwrite the new Win7 installation with the old Ghost recovery point.

     4.  Reinstall the new Boot Configuration Database store from the usb drive.

Can the old recovery point even work under the new disk configuration?  Am I missing some steps?

Thanks for any help,
