After registering for Norton Online Family, the Norton Safety Minder was installed on two computers at home. In both cases, web browsing no longer worked, but this capability was restored once Norton Safety Minder was uninstalled. OS, browser, security software, and Norton versions are as follows:

Norton Online Framework Version 1.1.5.14
Norton Online DataStore Version 1.1.5.14
First Computer
OS: Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3
Browser: Internet Explorer version 7.0.5730.11
Security provided by Verizon Internet Security Suite version 8.0.27.35772, Build 35772
Second Computer
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2
Browser: Google chrome version 3.0.195.25
Security provided by Verizon Internet Security Suite version 8.0.27.37772, Build 37549
Thanks for the detailed information. When something like this happens, it generally is the compatibility issue with other Security products. Just for testing purposes, could you disable or uninstall Verizon Internet Security Suite temporarily, but with Norton Safety MInder installed to see if you still have the Web browsing disabled issue.
I first disabled Verizon Internet Security Suite, but that did not improve the situation. After uninstalling it, web browsing worked fine, and Norton Safety Minder was still installed. Following this, I reinstalled Verizon Internet Security Suite. Once again, with both this and Norton Safety Minder installed on the same machine, I was not able to browse to any pages (except for Norton Online as before).
Thank you very much for the update. Sounds like Verizon Internet Security Suite and Norton Safety Minder are not compatible. I'll report this to our QA team and we will investigate on the issue.
