I made the previous post regarding a phishing filter problem on May 8 and as of today May 13 there have been no views or replies to my post. This forum is useless. About as useless as the help desk in resolving my problem. It is no wonder that Norton is loosing customers. Thanks anyway.
Sorry to hear about your frustrations. I've moved your post to it's own thread for better exposure. Please check back again.
Hi Robert-
Can you provide more details? I just installed Norton 08 and your page comes up fine. I have IE 7, and I noticed that IE7 browser has an option to check if this is page is phishing as well

I can confirm this.
Thanks Bryan, I can get to the site and log in but I can not do administrative functions. Phishing filter blocks my attempts to manage the site from that point on. The only way I can do administrative functions, ( ie: approve or reject someone registering to site ) is to turn off all aspects of NIS 2008. Just turning off the phishing filter does not work. I still get the message shown in my earlier post if I just turn off phishing filter by itself. I did not have this problem before upgrading to 2008.
Thanks again for your reply. R. Smith
I’m sorry about the problem you are having. Since I am not an admin of your site, I cannot tell exactly what the problem is. Can you put a screen shot of what you are seeing? Does your page get a Big Red X for Phishing? In the Norton Toolbar dropdown, can you select this is a good site?
I am having a similar problem with a site being partly blocked by the Phishing Filter. I am the administrator for a very small bulletin board for my local club. I can login to the phpbb site and get to the administration area but when I try to look up a current member or verify a new sign up, the phishing filter blocks that page. This all started when I upgraded to Norton 2008. I must turn everything off in order to reach the page. I have tried online support and after over an hour with them and allowing them two way access to the site, they were also puzzled and could not isolate the problem. Below is the page link that is being blocked.with the message. Can that be sent to the Phishing Filter Team? Thanks, Robert

Bryan, Yes, I get the big red X. the following is the message with the red x. When I click on "visit this web page anyway" it takes me back to the Admin panel but not to the page I am trying to get to. As I said, I must turn ALL of NIS off in order to get to the page. I have disabled phishing filter in IE 7. Turning off just the phishing filter in NIS will not work. I have to disable all platforms.

Oletrapper, Do you know of a way for us to get a temporary Admin account for that site so we can perform the exact steps necessary for reproducing this issue? If you can create an Admin account, please send me the credentials in a Private Message and post in here when you’ve sent the PM. Thanks in advance for your help here.
Robert-
When you get that Red X on your page, click on the Norton Toolbar and click Report Site. I believe it will give you the option to say that this is a good site. Please confirm
Thanks
Nate, I have sent you a PM regarding your earlier post. Thanks for trying to resolve the problem. R. Smith
Bryan, I have tried that. No luck. Thanks, R. Smith
Robert,
Thanks for the PM. I have our engineering team working to repro this right now. I'll let you know the results of our testing.
Robert,
I greatly appreciate the account credentials created for us. unfortunately, they've already expired. Can we get you to extend these credentials for another week perhaps?
Nate, Will do. Thanks
Nate, Done User name and PW same as before. Thanks, R. Smith
Robert,
We have corrected for this in the most current configuration lists. Please manually run LiveUpdate and verify that the page is now allowed.
Nate, Ran Liveupdate and although it said no new updates available, the forum is now up and running again properly. Don’t know what they did but THANK YOU VERY MUCH… Robert Smith, BWC Admin.
