I have a problem accessing some websites, mainly www.dailymotion.com. The site builds up partly only, when searching for videos I get a blank screen. When I switch Norton off it is all fine. A few weeks ago it was working ok, could an update now prevent me from loading the site properly? If not, does someone have an idea which settings I have to change?

We’ve got Norton 2006 upgraded to 2008. When I disable that I can see the website fine. Tried to check if any setting might cause this but I couldn’t find any solution so far. I also set all settings on default because I thought someone might have changed settings but that also didn’t help. I tried Firefox, too, but same problem there. As far as I know we don’t have any other antivirus etc.

hi danidk - do you have the add-on pack installed? i've read of some issues related to it and partial pages. the fact that it is across ff and ie is intriguing. what are you disabling to make it work - transaction security or the whole program?

you can take a look at the other BHO's in IE via Tools/Manage Ad-ons - what's listed there?

Really strange.

I don't have any problem connecting to the website. You have the add on pack installed?

We’ve only got the automatic updates feature switched on, so I don’t know what has been installed. When I say disable I mean I disable the whole application for 5 minutes. Then the website is working fine.

Do you have the anti Spam installed?

Yes, we do have AntiSpam installed. Could there be a problem with it?

Hello Danidk,

I don't think AntiSpam is the culprit, but parental controls and anti-phishing could both interact with the page negatively. For a test, can you disable Phishing (in the Norton 360 tasks window on the right hand side) and see if the problem persists. If that permits the page to load normally, we'll get the site submitted to the phishing filtering team.

Thanks,

Matt

Moved to a new thread for better exposure.

What version of Norton Internet Security are you using, and what did you turn off to be able to see this website?  Did you turn off the firewall component, Parental Controls, or some other component?  I was able to browse right to this site and search for videos perfectly fine using Norton Internet Security 2008, in both IE and Mozilla.  So it couldn’t have been a Norton update causing this.  Also, do you have any other third party security programs, antispyware, or any browser helper objects that you recently installed?
