I'm trying to verify my website ownership through norton safe web. Because when searching on google, my site has the grey "?" icon, instead of having the green 'site is safe' icon.
I don't want to make people that my website is insecure, so I registered for norton safe web and submitted my site.
They instruct me to copy and paste a small line of text to the <head> section before the <body> of my home page.
But there is no such options available in my wordpress website and I don't have ftp access as well.
I dont even know how to create a new page to paste the link, i'm pretty new in these stuff.
Can you please give us the exact name of your site? That would be the first step. After that I can tell our resident expert to check it out and provide further instructions. Thanks.
I understand your situation and can offer some solutions.
With a Wordpress site, you may not be able to place the meta tag correctly. If you have created a new page with the Norton safe Web code, that may allow for manual verification by the Safe Web team.
In your next post, please supply the address of your website home page and also the address of the new page with the Safe Web content.
Thanks!
To be notified by email when a reply is posted, go to My Settings > Preferences and check the box for: "Automatically Subscribe Me to Topics I Participate In".
Leave everything just as it is - don't change anything. I will notify the Safe Web team who will manually verify ownership. Please allow them a day or two to respond back you in this thread.
Once the team has confirmed ownership verification, you can remove all the Safe Web content from this page.
Your site ownership has been manually verified and your site 'www.ezdelights.com' has been submitted for analysis. Note that the initial evaluation process may take up to two weeks to complete.
Thank you so much! I'm enjoying the soothing green 'site is safe' icon next to my website. As per your earlier instructions I will go ahead and remove the page I've created for the verification.
In order to verify your wordpress blog, there are two methods. You can follow either one of the following methods for getting your wordpress blog verified.
Method 1
Method 2
Once after you successfully add the meta tag as notified, the verification process will take place automatically which might take upto two weeks time. Once after your site is verified you can remove the meta-tag from your website.
