Website verification for my wordpress.com site

I'm trying to verify my website ownership through norton safe web. Because when searching on google,  my site has the grey "?" icon, instead of having the green 'site is safe' icon.

I don't want to make people that my website is insecure, so I registered for norton safe web and submitted my site.

They instruct me to copy and paste a small line of text to the <head> section before the <body> of my home page.

But there is no such options available in my wordpress website and I don't have ftp access as well.

I dont even know how  to create a new page to paste the link, i'm pretty new in these stuff.

My website is: maplestarflooring.com

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello Ezdelights

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum

Can you please give us the exact name of your site? That would be the first step. After that I can tell our resident expert to check it out and provide further instructions. Thanks.

Hello Ezdelights and welcome!

I understand your situation and can offer some solutions.

With a Wordpress site, you may not be able to place the meta tag correctly.  If you have created a new page with the Norton safe Web code, that may allow for manual verification by the Safe Web team.

In your next post, please supply the address of your website home page and also the address of the new page with the Safe Web content.

Thanks!

Hello Phil

Looks like we tied this time. Are you ready to build an igloo with all our snow?

Yep!  :smileywink:

Hello,

Thanks for the prompt reply. The name of my website is www.ezdelights.com

Thanks,

Okay, thanks for the homepage.

So I tried to create a new page and pasted it.

Is this page available?  Somehow we need to see your 128 character authentication code.

Thanks!

Hello,

I've gone through the verification process once again and didn't succeed as well.

Here's the page I've created.

Thanks alot for your help!

Sorry to ask you to do a bit more, but on that new page, could you copy and paste the 128 character Norton Safe Web authentication code?

What we are doing now will not allow for the automated verification, but will assist the Safe Web team in manually verifying ownership.

Let me know when that is complete.  The code will only have to appear there for a few days.

Hope you are able to view the page and the said 128 character Norton Safe Web authentication code as well. Here's the address;

Thanks,

Bingo!  That's great!

Leave everything just as it is - don't change anything.  I will notify the Safe Web team who will manually verify ownership.  Please allow them a day or two to respond back you in this thread.

Once the team has confirmed ownership verification, you can remove all the Safe Web content from this page.

Great! A day or two is not a problem...once again thank you so much for your prompt replies.

Hi Ezdelights,

Your site ownership has been manually verified and your site 'www.ezdelights.com' has been submitted for analysis. Note that the initial evaluation process may take up to two weeks to complete.

Thank you so much! I'm enjoying the soothing green 'site is safe' icon next to my website. As per your earlier instructions I will go ahead and remove the page I've created for the verification.

Thanks again! Have a great weekend!

Hi Myildiz,

In order to verify your wordpress blog, there are two methods. You can follow either one of the following methods for getting your wordpress blog verified.

Method 1

Method 1.JPG

Method 2

Method 2.JPG

Once after you successfully add the meta tag as notified, the verification process will take place automatically which might take upto two weeks time. Once after your site is verified you can remove the meta-tag from your website.

on Medhod 1 there's no Google Webmaster Tool section. so skipped to Method 2. i went to themes but i cannot find customize or any other button.

Hi Myildiz,

Just put that metatag as a page content anywhere in your blog. Once your site is been verified you can remove that.
