Website wants to open web content - Trust website?

I keep getting a NIS warning when using IE9 that a website wants to open web content and that it will open outside of protected mode -- Name: McAfee, Inc. -- Publisher: McAfee, Inc.  My question is this:  I do trust McAfee but how do I know that it really is McAfee?  Why would it have to open outside of protected mode?  I keep denying the request just to be on the safe side, but it keeps popping up again.  I don't seem to get this warning when I use Firefox.

Hi bzzb,

Make sure that you have the latest version of McAfee SiteAdvisor installed and that you have installed any cumulative updates for Internet Explorer from Microsoft Update or Windows Update.

The following article explains why you are seeing this:

Thanks, SendOfJive.  The blog post you directed me to was very informative regarding the issue I had.  For now I have just disabled the Site Advisor add-on and am using Norton's Safe Web.  I suppose one is just as good as the other.

Thanks also to PapauZ for offering advice.

Hi Bzzb,

You're welcome.  Yes, Norton Safe Web and McAfee SiteAdvisor are very similar.
