What does a person need to do to end the NAG screens?

Issue abstract: Elderly mother is now afraid to use her computer due to constant nag screens scaring her

Has anyone had any success putting an end to the constant NAG screen-upsells from Norton?

If what Antivirus options do not do this?

@Burnill_Softley The upsell nags are deliberately built into Norton products and cannot be entirely disabled as there are no settings for that. The screenshots below are the settings we can change that will stop some but not all the notifications.

I have tried that with no serious success; I have to open it and fix that on each machine each day.

Unfortunately, its ultimately the call of Norton to dismiss these constant nag notifications within their products. The suggestions here are the best that can be offered at the present time with the way the products are designed, we cannot change that.

Thank you for the clarification.

I decided to cancel my subscription renewal now because of the constant in-app upsell prompts. Despite disabling advertising and non-critical notifications, Norton continues to display alarming performance warnings and pushes additional paid products (such as Utilities Ultimate).

These messages are disruptive, cannot be fully disabled, and are presented in a way that feels misleading for a paid security product. This significantly impacted my user experience and was the main reason for my decision.

I also unistalled this crapware as well. Norton should be ashamed. Constant bombardment of upsells that I dont want to see. Subscription cancelled as well. Good riddance !

Also cancelling 100% due to upsell ads. Been with Norton since the 90s.

And what I’ve been saying is that the Norton team needs to remove this spam from their product; nobody has liked it for a long time.
They’re losing more and more customers.

Everyone: There isn’t an update coming in the near term, that will disable all the marketing nags and sell-up notifications. Marketing is the new business model for tons of companies, Norton is one of them. It will take a major overhaul and a business model change for the marketing to disappear. The post I posted earlier on in the thread are the only options that are currently available to us.

So more people will complain about these messages that appear on the product screen and aggressive notifications.
Are we, the customers, going to have to get used to something like this?
If so, many people will abandon the product.

For example, Kaspersky doesn’t have this notification and message model directly in its product.

As a customer, it is my belief that this will continue. As much as we Guru’s have made it known to Norton that customers DO NOT want to be harassed with these issue sell-ups, its fallen on deaf ears. FWIW!! If Kaspersky or Avast, other products users feel meet the non-harassment bar for them its their choice to use those products as well. My personal choice is using Norton, having used some other software titles in the past they didn’t meet my needs at that present time. Keep in mind we cannot force any company to change how it does business here on the forums. The power of purchase has a way of doing that in the end run. Microsoft went down that road some years ago and lost big. My fear now is we are seeing it happen yet again, AI and marketing being the driving force. Just my thoughts on the issue.
