what does Quarantine - files - extract do?

Detailed description: clicked a quarantined file, then the three dots provides four options: Restore, Create exclusion & restore, Extract, Send for analysis. what does extract do?

Clicking extract will extract the contents of the file into a folder on your HD that you select. If Norton quarantined a file I would send it to Norton for analysis instead.

I clicked extract but was not prompted for a folder. How can I find the folder and if it was extracted?

Is there a history log of all quarantine actions including files quarantined, extracted and restored?

Check your Norton history for an entry where you restored the file. It may have the location marked there.
