What is a Java Exploit?

Hi All,

Occcasionally, I like to run Microsoft's downloadable scanner to check for things that Norton Internet Security 2012 might have overlooked.  I figure two virus scanning brains are better than one.

Anyway, today I downloaded the scanner from Microsoft's website and did a full scan with it. During the full scan, Microsoft's scanner, found an exploit.  I tried looking up this exploit on Norton's site but couldn't find anything about it.  Is this a trojan or what?

Microsoft indicated that it is called:

Exploit:Java/CVE-2011-3544.A

They indicated that it is a malicious Java applet.  The Microsoft scanner didn't find anything else.

Should I run Norton's Power Eraser to be on the safe side?
