what is the best way to install NIS 2011 on my new computer

Happy Holidays to all my friends in this forum who have helped me in the past.  My last post in September concerned updating my NIS 2009, which was store bought, to a more current version.

I eventually just renewed my NIS 2009 (3 user license) and did an over the top upgrade to NIS 2011, before I read that might not be a good idea.  The NIS 2009 program actually prompted me to do the upgrade - which so far seems to have gone O.K. on my old HP XP3 P3 computer.

Knowing that nothing lasts forever, I placed an order online for a brand new Dell - Windows 7, 64 bit version.  My question here is that it comes automatically with a 30 day trial of McAfee preinstalled.  I'm very happy with NIS 2011 and don't want to use that other product.  I'd like to know what the best method is of removing that trial version and installing NIS 2011 in its place.

Since my original NIS 2009 was a three user license, I'm thinking I can keep my old XP safe with one license and use a second license to install NIS 2011 - but I don't know where to go to do this.  I know I should probably go to McAfee's website and download and use their removal tool, then go to Symantec's site and find a download for Windows 7, 64 bit - and activate it with my original product key which I have.

However, I'm vague on the details and steps to take in the proper sequence to do this - so any and all help will be much appreciated.  My new computer probably won't arrive until December 15th, so I have a little time to prepare.

As an addendum, I ended up paying full price online to renew NIS 2009 as no store had it on sale prior to my expiration date.  However, I feel that all the help this forum provides is more than enough justification for paying what I did.

Thank you all for your help and guidance in this matter.
