What would cause Norton 360 To Turn off Intrusion Protection

Comments would be greatly appreciated–Several times recently Norton 360 intrusion protection features turned themselves off. I would notice this when I opened the Norton 360 software to run a quick scan, which I do a few times a day if I have been on the internet for a long period.  Is this a malfunction of the software or hacking?

Please Run the Norton Removal Tool twice, that is, Run it, Re-start, then Run it again and Re-Start.

What Version of Norton 360 are you Running: 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0?

P.S.: You Posted this in the Norton Internet Securty / Norton AntiVirus Forum; no doubt one of the Mod.s will Move it.  ;)

I have had this happen also, with 360 v2. In my case, the computer also began crashing, and 360 reported an "internal error" a few times. I don't know if that's happening to you too. In any case, when I sent the error report to Microsoft support, it said to uninstall any recently installed hardware or software, because a driver that may not have been properly installed or was conflicting with something else was causing it.

360 appeared to have become partially "uninstalled". I don't know if it had something to do with the fact that the computer I was running it on was an older one, barely meeting the minimum requirements for running 360.

I uninstalled 360 v2, and since v3 had come out, I installed that and the computer is running fine now. I will second the recommendations so far to uninstall/reinstall, and while you're at it, get the latest version.
