What's new in NIS 2008 15.5.0.23?

Theres a new version? I tried updating my NIS and it told me there are no updates.

I currently have NIS 2008 15.0.0.60 installed and I just found out today (by accidently) that there is a newer version out there (no notification?).   Anyone know what's new in the newer version?

Does anyone know if it would fix either of these two problems?

1. I have with NIS 2008, namely a memory leak in CCSVCHST.EXE when "Suspicious Activity Monitoring" is enabled. See this link.

2. My mom has a problem where she needs to disable phishing protection in order to use QuickBooks Online Edition. Otherwise she can't download excel files from that site.

Installed 15.5.0.23 (first by just upgrading, then after a live update slowdown caused by "fixing the product inventory" by using norton removal tool) and I see absolutely no difference other than a link to download the addon pack on the main screen.  It did seem slower after installing, but that could just be because it needs to cache again and I hadn't yet defragmented (did it last night).

Did you see the correction about this update -- it's specific for something in VISTA SP1 that MS has indicated will be changed but not yet. So Norton is ahead of the game, bless them, unlike the printer manufacturers when Norton first came out!

Despite the fact that I posted right below it, I didn't notice that.  Somehow I doubt that's the only change though.  I will note that LiveUpdate seems more efficient, but that's not really specific to 15.5.

On a side note, my dad runs NIS 2008 under Vista SP1.  If NIS is going to break in a few months, don't you think they'd push out  a fix via LiveUpdate or at least send out a notification say a reinstall was needed?

Patience is a virtue -- I'm more than impressed by the support and the honest feedback we are getting from Norton staff here.

I don't think I've seen anything like it before and I've been providing on-line support since shortly after Al Gore invented the personal computer <g> Well perhaps in the heyday of Compuserve when manufacturers like Norton and others ran Forums there with a mix of their own staff and volunteers -- just like here <s>

We do our best on Compuserve still but without the involvement of the manufacturers.

Gore did not invent the personal computer.

He invented the internet.:smileyvery-happy:
