What's new with Norton Security? Anything? Better Explanations of feature would be nice

Every year I take a look at all the new feature of the newest security suites.  Norton does a good job, but I feel left in the dark about what is new, or if anything really is new.  I know they always say better Auto Protect or DeepSight or something like that, but it really lacks when you purchase it what you are actually getting and what the product does and doesn't do.

I have a few questions, that searching around the web, I thought, I wonder, does Norton do that, or are they working on it, and if they don't have a good solution do they have one they suggest.

1.  This one was a simple one, I really haven't thought about, does Norton Scan my thumb drive?  Or my SD Cards, If not why, why not.  Seems many programs don't.  I thought in the past programs were doing that.

2.  Ransome ware The nasty thing on the internet that no one wants.  What is Norton doing about it, does it have any kind of protection to at least try to stop it.  I know that all the companies are running around to find a better solution.  If Norton isn't fully at the point of protecting against randsome ware, and I am pretty sure they are not, because no one out there is at this point, is there a add on 3rd party software, like malwarebytes antirandsomeware or hitman pro, as they are trying to work in that direction.  Anyone have any idea's on what the best one out there might be?

3. Seems like I am seeing anti key loggers in some 3rd party programs, and protection for web cams.  I don't believe I see that being offered in Norton.  Will it ever be?

4. A few Security suites are offering some kind of VPN, granted some of them are limited and useless, it would really be nice to see a good strong fast VPN.  You have it for the cell phones, which is great but many of us still use our computer to do more stuff that needs to be secured.

5. I just happened to look at an add on I have for chrome, I have had it on for so long I don't know if Norton has it, but if not, it would be a great idea.  HTTPS Everywhere, so that more connections are secure.

6.  I know this one is an old one, but leak tests.  I would like to see a little more robust firewall.  I don't want a firewall that goes off ever second asking me my opinions on things, and I think Norton does a good job, but I would like to see a feature to boost it, so that it will alert to things it is not sure about, and really see everything that is coming and going.  Just because a leak test doesn't have a payload, doesn't mean that I want something on my computer leaking out info, even if it is just silly stuff no one cares about.

Would really like to see some new and fresh ideas on keeping the computer safe, some are using sandbox technology, there is so much out there.

It would be great if Norton could have snap in's, where you can take out things you don't need, or you can snap in items like you want, so maybe you get a vpn, not  everyone wants one, you you can snap one into the program and pay for the VPN or how ever you choose to do it.

For me, I don't need spam protection, it doesn't work with my old email, I don't need the family protection, I don't need the system resource manager, it's all stuff I don't need.

Just my thoughts.  Hoping to see Norton Kick it up a notch this year, it seems to be slipping behind, and could do as good or better than Kapsersky any day.
