Best way to uninstall NIS 2005
I'm looking for opinions on the best way to uninstall NIS 2005 for a completely clean install of NIS 2010.
The computer in question is running XP SP3 with 1 meg of ram. It previously had earlier version of norton such as NIS 2002, 2003, 2004.
There are NO OTHER NORTON PROGRAMS INSTALLED.
Option A:
1. Use add/remove programs.
2. After rebooting check in program files and delete anything left of norton.
3. Go to applications folder and delete anything left of norton.
4. Run a search and delete anything that is a norton file.
Option B:
1. Use Revo installer ( it may also get rid of some norton registry files)
2. After rebooting check in program files and delete anything left of norton.
3. Go to applications folder and delete anything left of norton.
4. Run a search and delete anything that is a norton file.
Option C:
1. Download the norton tool for uninstalling different versions of norton.
2. Use the norton tool to uninstall in safe mode
3. Reboot and use norton tool again in safe mode.
4. After rebooting check in program files and delete anything left of norton.
5. Go to applications folder and delete anything left of norton.
6. Run a search and delete anything that is a norton file.
Option D:
1. Download and use the norton tool twice in safe mode and forget about it.
Option E:
Scream and pull your hair out and just forget the whole thing!
Thanks in advance.
