Yeah, I just ran the registry cleaner of CCleaner and got this two registry keys on first two lines. Just curious to know what it does with empty values…

I think that if you delete these entries, they should be recreated but your Norton product might stopped working properly that's why I said to leave these entries.
Believe me, deleting those 2 registry entries will not speed-up your pc or Norton.
Just my opinion and probably the reason why I do not use CC Cleaner.
However, having it installed is good for educational purposes.

This could be sited as another example of why we suggest not running registry tools. I think the only people that really understand the registry are the Windows engineers. Us mere mortals are likely to get into trouble trying to 'fix' possible registry errors.
If you use CCleaner, try to resist the temptation to use the registry cleaning. Just use the other features.
I know those steps will not speed-up my PC / Norton product.
I use Ccleaner just for cleaning up junk files, logs and browser leftovers like caches and databases…
Not deleted the Norton keys and tried…

FYI, Microsoft advises to delete temporary files that have not been modified for over a week.
CC Cleaner completely ignores that.
Also, junk files is a vague description, junk for CC Cleaner or Microsoft?
What if a file is considered as junk by only CC Cleaner and needed for s/w installed i.e dependencies??
Fortunately it has a backup option...

FWIW, Here is some rather dated info in regards to the subject files, but may provide a solution for those who continue to use CCleaner's registry cleaner and see the files:

I have always accepted that they could be there because the application that put them there knows it may use them at some later point and will change them when it wants to .....
If you do run the CCleaner clean after analysing and do it one item at a time my recollection is that it usually says something like "This kind of entry is usually left after uninstalling an application" ..... It never says "Is not needed ....."

The life of MicroSoft OperatinsSystems is said to be these registry entries (registry hive)....
I just went on to scan registry and scanned to see what it lists down......

I've included the temporary folders of windows to custom file / folder cleanup option of CCleaner.
I also use this feature to remove some files (not system / critical) from drives and external harddisk, which cannot be deleted with del key pressed or erase command of windows.
I recently encountered this issue with adobe CS6 Masters Edition, which had certain files here D:\Program Files\Adobe CS6 Masters Collection. It said I required to be an admin ( which I was) to delete certain files (After a complete system drive restore using image created by Samsung recovery Solution), when deleting it. CCleaner cleared it off. :-)
By junk files I mean all those unnecesary files like in recycle bin, clipboard data, old prefetch data etc.

I have almost all software setups and updates backed up to my external harddisk before installation so that I can use them in later situations (I even have the NIS 21.1.1.7 which was the latest setup I have downloaded using the Norton downloader).
Till now I have found such dependecy problems with windows XP only, so no worries till now......

We have 21.2 on win 7. Also 20.4 on win 7 and vista computers.
I run ccleaner-cleaner multiple times per day.
I run ccleaner-registry around once per day.
In many years of using ccleaner, I have never seen it flag NIS registry entries. Never.
If I ever did, I wold uncheck them before deleting the others.
In the N360 forum post referenced by yank, the OP listed:
"Unused File Extension Symantec.Norton.SystemStatus HKCR\Symantec.Norton.SystemStatus
Unused File Extension Symantec.Norton.SystemStatus.1 HKCR\Symantec.Norton.SystemStatus.1"
Those are unused _file extensions_.
When configuring ccleaner-registry, I always uncheck the Unused File Extensions items.
ALL the ccleaner menus (cleaner, registry, tools, options) should be configured before using the utility.

CCleaner and similar tools aren't a proven science that can guarantee to speed up and/or optimize systems, sometimes it might help, sometimes it might make the system unstable, prudence makes me feel with those who don't use it.
In addition to suggesting, we cannot deny the use of the software to anyone who believes it is essential for the survival of his computer.
