Where did support go?

I've seriously confused Norton by buying products for different people as gifts. Norton's whole system is designed to work on the premise that it's one product per person so when it comes to getting support, it takes a long time to get anywhere. That is why I always like, after thoroughly researching the issue myself, to phone Norton.

Today, a year after visiting Norton to renew for a friends product (all under my account), not only has the price gone through the roof, but with the higher costs, there are fewer services, like the toll-free number. Thankfully, someone killed Nathan. What a insult that thing was!

I can understand how much easier it is for Norton, and profitable too, to drop employees that managed the lines (outsourced anyway), the costs of the lines, and grief Norton was getting over the call centre phones, if they cancelled the phone and let the "community" deal with Norton's mistakes.

I can't find the toll-free real support on Norton's new cutesie Googie friendly site. Have they dumped real "support" on the people that volunteer what they think will help?

My question, if I could reach Norton, is

  1. "why do you continue to use buggy Googie stalker-ware that uses poor algorithms to detect country of origin?"  It is right only 5% of the time, for those that value and protect their privacy. Norton does not need to know from what site I arrived from, where I was before that, my street address, nor does Norton need to follow me around the Internet and back again.
  2. why are you charging me "12% taxes"? For what country does Norton imagine (thanks to Googie stalkers), I am in? If you are collecting that tax with the intention of turning it over to whatever country Googie guessed I was in, where then is the tax number?
  3. It appears Googie told Norton I'm in Canada. Canada does not charge 12%, federal GST is only 5% NOT TWELVE! What is the other 7% for? Is Norton billing like restaurants and adding the gratuity in themselves? Or, is that a download fee?
  4. How does Norton explain such a huge price increase? because there are more viruses now? Come on Norton.
  5. Why would Norton want to follow us visitors around the Internet using LSO's beacons, Gif-stalkers, and so on?

The people here that know what they are talking about should be hired on at Norton and paid for their work. Volunteers - you are being had.

i

p.s. For the *Trolls.
I didn't say I didn't appreciate the volunteers help. I do appreciate it. If it were not for them and their valuable time, Norton would be out of business, or back in supporting their products.
It's your opinion, and mine is that Google is a legalized stalker.
It's not about hiding anything, it's about being stalked - period.
The Internet is no longer the information highway it was hoped it would become. It is the Googlenet for corporate and government spyware.
