You do not need any other real time antispyware running only on demand. SuperAntiSpyware and Malware Bytes are free on demand scanners which are great. What are you using for a firewall? There is Online Armor and PCTools for free. I surf under a Sandbox from Sandboxie which is great. Sandboxie is your best bet to be more secure and its free. Alsio use Firefox when browsing.
This is my current configuration: Windows Vista Home Premium (Service Pack 1) Norton Antivirus 2009 Outpost Firewall Pro 2009 (With Over 8000 IP Blocked Inside) Threatfire Pro 3 SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition (Removed From Startup) Javacool Software SpywareBlaster Spybot S&D (TeaTimer Disabled) Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (Paid Version, Real Time Protection Disabled) WOT installed in both Internet Explorer and Firefox Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox 3 Internet Connection Connected to a secure VPN Proxy Server
OMG you are more then enough covered. Why are you so parinoid? Are you a memeber of Wilders? You can dump TF since Outpost has HIPS. Add Sandboxie and your all set.

Do you have a hardware router with firewall? (Or does your VPN provide the equivalent? I'm not VPN savvy).
I would have thought you would have been as safe or safer if you switched from NAV to NIS and deleted the ones I've changed to Green (for Go <s>)
switched from NAV to NIS and deleted the ones I've changed to Green
I'm not sure about that... in all test Outpost has won... I'm not sure if NIS Firewall be better than Outpost... also, WOT is more popular and has more web site in Database... more than NIS antiphishing and McAfee Site Advisor...
and no, my DSL routher has not Firewall. :(
I believe I can manage Outpost better than NIS Firewall...
also, i want to know what NIS2009 has than you say I uninstall Threatfire and Install NIS? I can compare Threatfire with Norton Antibot, but, NIS vs. Threatfire?
Javacool spywarebalster is not bother to me, because it has not any on demand and it's only filling my settings inside browser... :)

The sources of Information don't protect. Security software, what you do and where you go -- or don't go -- is what protects you.
I don't know Threatfire but from what you say it sounds like dealing with anti-phishing and with other aggressive websites and NIS certainly has all that built in if you want to use it.
Threatfire is a "Behavior Guard", ThreatFire continually protects your PC against attacks by detecting malicious behavior, such as capturing your keystrokes or tealing your data, instead of only looking for known threats like normal antivirus software. By implementing sophisticated real-time behavioral analysis ThreatFire is able to stop never- before-seen "zero-day" threats solely by detecting their malicious activity.
NIS has "Identity Protection"and "Firewall" more than NAV, but, when I've somethings better than NIS built in firewall and Dangerous web-site filtering. I prever NAV to don't slow down my PC with 2 firewall and...
Anyway, Thanks for your answers. :)
(Forgive me about my English Speaking, That's not my Language...!)
You say Threatfire is "better" than NIS (2009?) but do you really know that? <s>
I can assure you that NIS2009 (and N360) capture key loggers and password sniffers because they keep on objecting to them in a couple of reputable tools I have, one of them being UBCD ......
And don't forget NIS2009 has SONAR, heuristic and community approaches as well as the definiton and behavior methods.
But if you like Threatfire and if it does not interfere with NIS2009 then by all means keep it if that suits you.
No language problems at all. Your English is much better than my ?????? and I was educated in England but it was spoiled in the USA ... <vbg>
Counter Spy is way resouce hungry. Actually the most I have ever seen again is NOT needed. WHy pay for more security. Do not refuse or pass by what I said. Sandboxie is one of the best programs out there you can use. There are a lot of people who are only using Sandboxie. Do not use Counter Spy. On the average it uses 47,000K. Threatfire is good but worthless unless its on level 4 or higher.

hey SoccerDad, I've not ignored your idea about Sandboxie, And now I've set my Threatfire to Level 4 After reading your reply. it's good idea about Sandboxie.
I'll try CounterSpy in a Virtual Machine to see what it do, I don't use any software without do a lot of test on that ;)
huwyng, I've not said Threatfire is better, I've said Outpost firewall is better Than NIS builtin Firewall and Threatfire is better than Norton Antibot! that what I said... also I've said WOT is more useful to me in compare with NIS Anti-phishing url check... :)
Couple little progs I have had good luck with but am wondering what you all think.
1. FF add on NoScript it can be a pain having to allow scripts sometimes, but nothing runs without me saying yes.
2. KeyScrambler I have tested it against every keylogger i could find and so far it has not failed. It works as a FF add on and appears to do the job quite well. Every key stroke in FF is encrypted making it (I'll never say impossible) but difficult for a keylogger to do it's job.
You all messed with these at all? And if so, thoughts? I'm liking this Sandboxie program, going to have to test that. And thanks for putting me on to WOT, hadn't seen that before either.
Sandboxie is awesome. I simply right click on Firefox and select “Run Sandboxed”. When I done browsing and doing what ever it is I do I just use CCleaner with Custom Cleaning to empy out my Sandbox. Anything you do is gone with one click. Also Sandboxie is great for trying out programs without actually installing them.
dion, I've tried NoScript, it's good idea, but it can be annoying in long time usage... but you will browse a few more safe...
some security application, like NIS and Threatfire and Norton Antibot can detect your keyloggers, but if you like, you can use additional utility to cover your security more.
WOT is an add-on for firefox and IE. so would not slow down your PC to be like a stand-alone application.
Boe, keyscrambler is a FF add on as well. I haven't noticed any issues with it slowing me down and to date (4 months now) not so much as an error because of it.
I just added WOT and am playing with sandboxie now. Pretty cool little programs, I think I can get used to them. Also, I have NAV and a few other progs I use, but there are so many things that even NAV does not catch I have never really felt comfortable with it. Be it, I think it is the best on the market.
I like finding discussions like this, it always leads me to learning more things. Thanks all.
