I don't see the "Tags area in the left column" like it says at the Norton FAQs page at http://community.norton.com/norton/help_faq#tagging . I'm not sure I want to use them anyway, but I was thinking it would be nice to have it as an option to help find stuff. I searched and didn't find anything relevant other than what the FAQs say, which doesn't seem to pertain to the pages I'm seeing:
"You can use tags to bookmark, categorize, or identify a post. A well chosen tag will also help other users find interesting content.
- Navigate to an interesting message or comment. When you're at a place where you can read the whole message, you'll see the Tags area, in the left column.
- Type a single-word topic into the Add Tag field. You can type more than one tag - just type a space after each.
- Click the Add Tag button.
The Tags area updates with your new tags!"
I've looked and clicked all over the left column, making sure I could see the "whole message" as instructed, but the "tag area" just isn't there - there is no field where users can type anything into. Although I *can* see already-existing tags, that other people have added. I have allowed scripts (Javascript) for both Norton.com and Symantec.com so if it's a Javascript thing, it ought to be working. And of course cookies are enabled. I even clicked the "Thread Option" thing and tried viewing the pages as "Sort Messages by Threading", and "Sort Messages Newest to Oldest", instead of the usual "Sort Messages Oldest to Newest", but I still can't find where to type in tag info.
I don't know what else to try. Maybe I'm missing something really obvious (wouldn't be the first time - I often get hung up on detail and fail to see what's right in front of me). Or is it something like where a user has to have like 1000 posts or 300 kudos or something, before they can make tags? Or is it just not working?
Any ideas?
