Where is backup on pc from phone? And how do we set what is to be back up exactly?

Hi,

Just bought and downloaded mobile security, I clicked on the backup on my phone and it says that

backup my contacts, but to where?

I noticed there is a backup part on the norton website, but it says you have to pay and i thought the backup came with the paid norton mobile security download?

How do I access this info and modify what is backed up from my phone

Thanks

My issue is that when I perform a backup from my phone, it lists 365 contacts, but I only have 179 contacts within my contacts!  When I do a BU, not a restore, it adds the extra 186 "contacts" on to my phone contacts!  The additional contacts it adds, which I do NOT want within my contacts are the ones from Skype and Facebook; which I never configured it to do nor can I see where this would be configured from!  Additionally, I lose all my personal ringtones that were setup.  Again, this was when performing a backup and not a restore.  Service is Sprint, running paid subscription of Mobile Security, also have Mobile utilities and identity, and Phone is Samsung S3 with Jelly Bean.

How can I just backup my 179 contacts and NOT have all of the others come back to my phone?

Thank you,

CPO

Hi CPOSharkey.

Welcome to the Norton Community Forums. :smileyhappy:

I have not come across this issue before.  Can you tell us what version of NMS you are running?

Edit:  Also can you tell us if this appears to be a one off or does it repeat?  I accept that this may not be easy to test on the added Skype and Facebook identities but you might note it on the ringtones.

Hello CPOSharkey,

Thanks for posting the issue. I have forwarded the information over to our Engineering team to investigate this further. In the meantime, if you could provide us with more information on the device that would be great:

Good morning,

I just renewed my subscription and the version is 3.3.4.970.

Thank you,

Sorry, missed the last question....  I performed it 2x now (both times I performed the BU) and it happened each time.  It did not happen with my previous phone, Motorola Photon, which I upgraded about a month ago to the S3.

Thanks again,

OK....  So I found out some information from Symantec when renewing my 360 subscription, and actually upgrading my 360 subscription to include Mobile security; best value!  They told me that they are aware of my problem and that a fix/patch will be available within the next 2-weeks.

I need to know what my Norton 360 backs up each day.  I am 83 years old and all of this is foreign to me.    Is it files like documents, pictures or video's.  My computer is older so runs Windows 10.  I am totally lost.
