Where is the documentation for the PC cleanup service?

Where is the documentation for the pc cleanup service, it was an add on to my renewal, but I can not find any info.  I have talked to support twice and they can not answer this question.

Just give me, a link to the document describing the service.

That is a link for norton live, I did not pay for notron live, I paid for pc cleanup.

I just want to understand what I paid for? Hhow many computer I can use it on? And ballpark idea of how much time it will take?

Hi, susanmiller250; welcome to our community!

Norton doesn't have a product called "PC Cleanup," so we were just going for the closest thing to what you described (as an "add-on to your subscription," i.e., something you have to pay more money for that's involved in cleaning your PC). It sounds as though you may have acquired an additional product from another vendor, as there is a product from a "pccleanuputility" by that name.

Did you perhaps purchase your Norton through a third party, who may have tried to sell you this other product at the same time, for "additional protection"?

V/R,

No, I renewed my subscripton, and it was listed as an add-on ofr $9.99.  Since you do not have this service,I will request a refund.  To bad I can not have 3 hours of my time refunded.

Ahh, OK. A lot of people we see here "renew" through a third party too, so that seemed like a likely explanation.

Perhaps it's being offered as some sort of partnership agreement with another vendor. I'm not finding any documentation to suggest that, but we're just users like you. Let me see if  anybody at Norton can address this.

Did you by any chance save or print any of the information you were given when you purchased it? Like the URL that you downloaded the software from? This might be in your browser history, too, if you remember the day you renewed.

V/R,

--DistEd2

no, it is from norton.  [Removed].  The only way it could be from someone else is is you have a ghost site.

[edit: Removed case number per the Participation Guidelines and Terms of Service.]

Well, again, there is no such Norton product, so at this point an authorized partnership with another vendor seems like the best possibility, if you got the name right.

I have, however, been able to locate some info on a Norton product called PC Checkup, on this Solved thread:

http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Norton-PC-Check-up/m-p/701693#M70457

However, if that is what you bought, it sounds like you should get a refund as you suggested, as it appears to be redundant to Norton 360.

V/R,

--DistEd2

No, service not a program.

OK, maybe something new that they haven't told us about, although from what I can find, there is no such Norton offering, whatever you call it. The closest thing is the Norton Live service that @dickevans originally mentioned. I'll ask the Norton folks and post back with whatever we can find out.

V/R,

While I'm waiting for a response, I'm continuing to dig. Finally came up with this--which is part of the Norton Live Services that @dickevans originally referred you to:

http://buy.norton.com/en-us/norton-internet-security-pc-clean-up/MCQKMDlBRkNDQi1CQjM1RTAtLUVCMEE1NS04ODhFMDU2MzM2EkQ2b24kb3RyaS1uZXRuZW5ycy10dWNldGlycC15Yy1jYWVsdS1uFhpwbmFMbmlkclBndWRvRnRjdGFlZXJ1ByJzMDAxMDAwAig3/

It seems to be associated with Norton Internet Security--and be redundant for users of Norton 360, which allows you to do those things for yourself--but finally we do have a Norton offering that seems to fit your description. Does this look like what you signed up for?

V/R,

--DistEd2

Sorta, but it was an add on for Norton 360-5 devices.

OK; sounds like we're getting close. You may still want to pursue that refund, as Norton 360 does all that for you anyhow...but I've asked the Norton folks whether there's something extra there that I'm not noticing, so we'll see what they say....

:smileyfrustrated:  I think you know more about it than I do at this point :smileysad:

I have the same issue at SusanMiller255.  Was there ever a solution, or at least a credit for the $9.99?

Does this help?

Call 866 488 9595 and request the PC Cleanup service.  The other number is 877 788 4877, that may be direct to it....I went through the first one.  It is a Norton service, they connect to your PC and check your startup, registry for maleware, make sure all is good.  Takes about ten minutes.

That phone number is for the Norton Ultimate Help Desk referred to above.

There are details here together with the charges
