White Screen of Death - It is Malware

Hi

I received the white screen blanketing from a dummy website that I missed and pressed enter. Did not get as far as finding out what it displayed. Once I saw letters appear in the upper left corner I disconnected, my network cable. I have a home domain and worried what else it might try to access. Since the white screen would not respond to any keystrokes. When I pressed the power button, it disappeared and saw my regular screen and logged off.

So here I am.

I am running WIn 7 - 64 bit and a full subscription of Norton Antivirus Suite from Comcast Business. As I read for the FBIHIJACK virus, I ran FRST64.exe as specified under that post. I am including the text file generated. FRST.txt

That not running FRST (advanced tool) until being asked to.

Also you have Norton and MSE installed.  Not good.

ran FRST64 only to gather the logs.

Talked with the folks from MALWAREBYTES.ORG.

Confirmed I needed to remove the following

HKU\Ken\...\Winlogon:[Shell] C:\Users\Ken\AppData\Roaming\Roaming\id.cff,explorer.exe

Save it as fixlist.txt

Ran FRST64.ext and used the FIX option

Received "Fix completed" message

Also ran dds and that was good.

Being greatful, I bought malwarebytes antimalware product. We should help support those who do this. It found nothing, which is what I hoped it to have found.

You don't need to state hoe to use FRST as I already know, and FRST is only to be used by those that know how to use it.

Remember you also have more than one AV installed which is bad.
