Who do I report unwanted private messages received though these forums?

Recently I received a "private message" email through this forum. The message clearly was an attempt to engage me in a private conversation away from this forum; the sender gave me an email address to respond to. Not knowing who the sender was I did a quick web serch on the name and soon got many hits containing this senders name associated with scams.

It seems to me that Norton should be interested in blocking scammers from using these forums as phishing platforms.

But so far I have not found any links to "report unwanted" messages. At least you should provide a link to report forum problems like this.

You are not alone! Let's take into account that all the Norton Staff who are active here got the same massive collection of spam!

@huwwyngr

Exactly. I've had this problem. It would be nice to just click on a notify link beside the message.

I understand your point but I think the more important point that has been passed on by several to Forum Management is that there should be Notify a Moderator where you read the Private Messages as there is here for each message.

If it were anywhere but in direct association with the offending message then you would have to work out how to tell the moderator exactly where the message is to be found?

I'll add my name to this list. My thanks also to the "Masked Banner".  However, I'd still got an email saying I had a PM, still logged in, and had to go to the PMs to find the PM-er was banned. (I blocked "her" just to be sure). I had a previous scammer in 2014, 2 days before St Valentine's. I'd say Norton Community gets a few. Really, must be a case for a dedicated page. Or just sticky this one??

There's evidently a need.

Thanks for the speedy reply Krusty13. And a thank-you to whomever booted this person.

However, I'd still like to hear comments as to why there are no obvious links for reporting such messages on the forum home page. The four forums you provided links to point the heart of this problem. Four different legitimate users reporting the same unwanted message by creating four different threads! By the time I get another of these I will have forgotten the arcane forum names and will likely end up creating yet another short thread forum. Forum moderators must waste a lot of time searching for forums with related key words ...

It has already been reported and the member banned.
