Why are Online Backups taking so long to complete?

I have Norton 360 V4 and all was well and good until mid June when it began to say that my Backups were at risk.

I've tried several times to backup but so far after 7 hours only 62% is complete.  I'm only backing up 2.9GB so can't understand why it takes so long.

I have Vista 32-bit as my OS.

Any ideas?

128Kbps upload speed equates to 2Mb per minute, 120Mb per hour .... So your performance thus far is pretty good for what has uploaded.

Thanks.  Is 128 the norm for upload speeds?

Virgin Media uses traffic management to sharply curtail upload and download speeds for heavy users at busy times.  It looks like your normal upload speed should be 512k but is reduced a whopping 75% at peak times.  That would explain it.  Do other ISPs in the UK also impose such severe throttling?

Yes they do at peak times to "balance" access:smileysurprised:.

Woah, gonna have to seriously consider changing my ISP if its that bad!
