Why are there both local area connection and trust control pages in network security map.?

I've got a home network with seven ethernet  devices and one wireless.  I've been using Norton (Symantec) Anti-Virus since  Peter Norton's sale of his utilities to them.

Up until my 2010/2012 versions of NIS My network map was all on one page.  Now there are two pages,    Local Area Connection (LAN) and Trust Control.  Trust control seems redundant to the information on the LAN page.  If there is a need for any  new information under Trust control, I can't find it.

The help for the security map says that I must manually enter the information for any devices entered manually on the LAN page.  This implies that the devices found under computer discovery will automatically be entered under Trust Control as well.  That does not happen!

Additionally, it's a real pain to have to enter all my devices in Trust Control when they are not picked up from the LAN page during discovery or manual entry there.  This is an issue whenever I get a major change/ update to NIS because my entire Trust Control gets wiped clean and the descriptive info manually entered on the LAN page is deleted.  The remote monitoring data is also lost at those times.

I've read the articles referred to in searches about the Network Map as well as the program help.  All of these tell you how to make and change the entries.  Nothing I've found explains why two pages when the second has the same info as the first page, and what is different about the page uses.  If it's there, I'm too dense to find it.

Can anyone out there explain what is going on with the two pages?
