Why can't Norton provide and easily accessible list of compatible programs?

Why do I have to trawl my way through this forum to find this basic and very important information? My Norton internet security has failed around 16 times in the last year and had to be reinstalled, Norton techs repeatedly failed to look more deeply at the issue. One of the last techs aggressively deleted, without asking, 10 other software programs. Most of these were maintenance software - but Norton does a very poor job of maintenance compared to these other specialised software, like cleaning a disk of unwanted files. Rather than spreading themselves so thin and creating so many problems, why doesn't Norton just stick to what it claims to be good at and allow the other experts to do their job, surely this would also mean less compatibility issues.

So my most important question, and please at least just answer this, is what are the maintenance programs that I can use in conjunction with Norton? - to delete unnecessary files, make more space, deal with the registry, defrag, malware and spyware - and please don't tell me Norton does all this, there is no comparison with the software that my 'favourite' Norton tech just deleted. He even deleted Thunderbird - now surely you can't tell me Norton has issues with that!
