Why does checkdisc on the Ghost cd only process 765,168 files?

No matter how many files are on the pc, if I run the complete check disc from the Ghost 14 cd, on step 4 of the 5 step check disc (if you tell it to repair bad sectors), it will never list more than 765,168 files processed, whether there are 32 gb of data or 350 or anywhere in between, and I have used it more than several dozen times, since on my Vista system, autochk.exe keeps getting corrupted and I have to use an external method.  What is the problem?  And I am also wondering why, sometimes when I try to make a Ghost image on Vista 64 bit ultimate, it will decide that it cannot do so except in the recovery environment. Unfortunately, there is no option to make an image from the "recovery environment," by which I assume it means when you boot from the Ghost cd.  I got so annoyed recently that I drove over to Fry's and bought Laplink's DiskImage, because this is not the first time I have had issues with Ghost. It has a haphazard way of seeing or not seeing the external drives, especially, apparently, in the case of people like myself who have multiple backup locations.  I suggest you fix the product for good.  Even WindowsImageBackup will see its own images on whatever drive you have plugged in, but not Ghost, oh no.  I had been thinking about upgrading from 14 to 15, but I am switching back and forth between a 64 bit Vista image and a 64 bit Win7 image on this machine, and I do not find any indication that Ghost 15 is completely compatible yet with 64 bit Win7.  Is the check disk on the Ghost 15 completely functional, or does it only process 765,168 files on that particular step also?
