Why Does Norton Driver Updater not even see my Canon Pro-100 printer?

Issue abstract: I have a Canon Pro-100 printer and it has drivers installed. However, I don’t know if they’re up to date.

Detailed description: I’m paying for Norton Driver Updater. It doesn’t even see either the printer or its driver. So, I can’t tell if the installed driver is up to date or out of date.

Product & version number: The latest version of Norton Driver Updater as of October 18, 2024 (I run Norton Updater almost daily).

OS details: Windows 10, updated as of the October, 2024 “Patch Tuesday” (last week). OS Build 19045.5011

What is the error message you are seeing?

No error message. The application is just not doing what I’m paying for.

Hello Grandpa_of_Loba. The community at large recommends not using Driver Updater nor Software Updater because. It is not a mature product in it current form. And, doing so can render a computer not bootable in some instances. We recommend, using Windows Updates for their certified drivers that come alongside updates for the OS. As well as, using the OEM websites for determining updates for specific products which they support. Physical verification is at times far safer and better in the end run than taking chances with automation getting it wrong.

The Cannon website shows these drivers as available for your printer. Please note that if your printer is not having any issues there is no reason to be concerned.

View Windows Update History in Settings

Click - Start > Settings > Update & security > Windows Updates

Click on View update history

Click - Driver Updates

This is an example of what you should see in the installed drivers listing that was sent via Windows Updates: Review the drivers for your Cannon printer if they are there, mine are and bounce against the version in the OEM website. They should match.
