Why does Norton Utilities 16 close my Internet browser when it runs?

When I run Norton Utilities '1 Click Optimization', why does it cause my Internet Browser to close?  I have several tabs open and they are all closed and the work I am doing is gone.

Is it because of the Privacy setting?

Please help.  I've used NU for years and all of a sudden the new product is totally different.

Thanks.

Thank you.

Is there a Guide for Norton Utilities?

There is no PDF help file for NU16.

You can click Help > Help Topics for information.

Thank You!

You're welcome.

I have been having the same problem and the privacy setting mentioned in the solution is NOT set. Any ideas?

Try setting that settin to ON and reboot. Then turn it off again and reboot. Then test.

Sometimes settings get muddled and need to be jogged back into place.

I'm running Norton Internet Security (21.2.0.38) and have the same problem, but can't find this privacy setting there.

How do I solve it for NIS?

(It is very disturbing to have your browser shut down by brute force when you are in the middle of a bank transaction etc.)

Do you have Norton Utilities installed on your computer? This thread deals with that Norton product.

If you feel you have an issue with your Norton Internet Security, you should post here.
